Discover Network needed a fresh approach to convince merchants to add Discover as a payment option, and designed a strong 'no fee for a year' offer program. They asked UMarketing to develop the program brand and communications material to support a full-year campaign to merchants and acquirers (card processing companies). Our response was to support the no-fee incentive with messaging that combined actual merchant experiences with facts about the benefits of acceptance, renaming it the Discover ON US Program. UMarketing interviewed, photographed and filmed merchants to create a library of “real voices” to use throughout the program.
 
We developed unique websites for both merchants and acquirers, and launched the campaign with sales and training materials for acquirers as well as monthly email and direct mail communications throughout the year. This unified marketing approach leveraged consistent, actionable messaging across the websites, emails, direct mail, statement inserts, telemarketing, sales and training materials and point of purchase. The campaign is ongoing, and is receiving enthusiastic response from merchants and acquirers.
